If you want to know how much you use, the device can do the counting for you. But “tracking” means very different things depending on the device. Here's what each type actually records.
Many cart batteries now have a small screen. It usually shows the voltage, the battery level and a puff counter. Some add a preheat timer. The Yocan Kodo Pro and the Pulsar 510 DL 5.0 are common examples.
The count lives on the battery. There's no history of past days and no app, and it tells you how many puffs, not how much.
Some dab devices keep a history in a phone app. Puffco's app, for example, shows how many dabs you've taken on a Peak Pro, how long they lasted on average and your daily averages. These devices use their own chamber, not carts.
DaVinci's app for its IQ vaporizers keeps a session history and estimates how much you used from the potency and the amount you enter. These are for dry herb, not carts or concentrates.
Slyder Pro is a handheld device with a touchscreen. It works with any standard 510 cart, and with concentrates through the Pyra Dab Adapter. It records:
You also set the heat in degrees instead of volts, and you can choose a daily limit that lets you know when you reach it.
